It's quite buggy up there, woodpecker

The summer of 2020 is what's now referred to as the "height of the pandemic".
Another thing also at a high pitch was cabin fever. Yi and I went up to Angeles National Forest, outside of Los Angeles, to escape into nature and walk around. We see a few people, and a couple dogs, and a woodpecker, and it was, in fact, quite buggy, as you can hear.
A bit later, not only with the terrifying fires of 2025, but one or two blazes earlier, this hike–Dawson Saddle– was at least partially fucked by the flames, and the stretch of the Crest Highway on the way there was damaged. Haven't been up there in a while. What a great trail, being one of the most fun and dramatic shaded hikes in the region.
